A Health Ministry employee suing for wrongful dismissal and defamation was fired for circumventing policies and procedures, the ministry said in court documents filed this week.
Responding to a civil claim filed by Ron Mattson, the ministry said the 28-year employee was terminated for just cause and was never defamed in any way.
The ministry alleges that Mattson talked to a third-party contractor about ways to get around the province’s policies and procedures to access data.
